Best junk removal software and apps in 2026

The best junk removal software depends on whether you want hauling-specific tools or a published price. Docket and Hauler Hero are built for junk removal and hauling, but both are quote only with no public pricing. Jobber and Housecall Pro are general field service apps with published prices, ServiceM8 has a free plan for one user, and Claver includes 2, 8 or 20 users in one flat price from $19/mo.

Docket and Hauler Hero publish no prices; both send you to a demo request instead. Housecall Pro shows its prices after a short quiz about your trade and team size; the figures here are from its result for a one-person team. Jobber was running a limited-time discount when we checked, so the figures here are its regular rates. Prices change, so check the source before you buy.

How we compared these tools

We compared published prices, plan limits and features on each vendor's own site on September 27, 2026. We did not test the apps hands-on or survey their users, so nothing here ranks tools on ease of use or support. Docket and Hauler Hero publish no prices at all, so we say that plainly instead of estimating one.

The five tools are ones junk removal and hauling businesses often weigh against each other, from hauling-specific platforms to general field service apps. Each profile below uses the vendor's own plan names and descriptions. Claver's plan details come from Claver's own product.

What does each junk removal software option offer?

Each profile covers what the tool is, who it suits, what it costs and one real tradeoff. Docket and Hauler Hero are marked quote only because neither publishes a price.

Claver

Claver is field service software for small home-service businesses: scheduling, quotes, invoicing, payments and customer texting, with users included in one flat monthly price. Starter is $19/mo for 2 users, Crew $39/mo for 8 and Business $79/mo for 20, month-to-month. Starter includes online booking with live pricing, a customer portal, quotes, invoicing, card payments and recurring plans that customers can sign up for on their own. Crew adds dispatch, two-way texting, GPS tracking, route optimization and QuickBooks Online sync. Business adds a built-in phone system and an AI receptionist.

Tradeoff: Native iOS and Android apps and Tap to Pay are coming soon; today Claver is a web app you install from the browser. It is a newer product with a smaller integration list than Jobber or Housecall Pro, and there is no free plan: it is $1 for 14 days, then $19/mo. The AI receptionist is on Business only, and it takes booking requests for you to confirm rather than booking on its own.

Jobber

Jobber is an all-in-one app for home service pros to book, quote, invoice and grow, with plans from one user up to teams. Core is $49/mo for one user month-to-month, or $29/mo billed annually. Team plans are priced by team size: Connect for up to 5 users is $199/mo ($149/mo billed annually). Online booking and a client hub are on every plan, it has native iOS and Android apps, and you can try it free without a card.

Tradeoff: Many features sit above Core. GPS tracking, routing, automated client notifications and QuickBooks Online sync start on Connect, and two-way texting and job costing start on Grow. The AI Receptionist is a $29/mo add-on.

Housecall Pro

Housecall Pro is an all-in-one platform for residential and commercial pros. Its pricing page runs you through a quiz about your trade and team size before showing prices; for a one-person team it lists Basic at $79/mo, with online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing. Essentials ($229/mo for one user) adds job costing, membership plans and QuickBooks Online sync, and Max ($349/mo) adds route optimization. It has a free mobile app for iOS and Android and a 14-day free trial with no card.

Tradeoff: Team plans start at $299/mo for 5 users on Essentials, and each extra user adds $100/mo. Max for teams is $649/mo for 8 users, plus $75/mo per extra user. AI call answering is a separate add-on.

Docket

Docket is built for dumpster rental and junk removal hauling, with three named plans (Grow, Pro, Pro Plus) covering customer management, a dispatch and driver app, text messaging, a customer-facing online shopping cart and integrations including QuickBooks Online, Samsara and Verizon Connect. Pro Plus adds IronRoute AI, a route creation and optimization tool.

Tradeoff: Quote only, no public pricing. Docket's pricing page shows detailed features and payment-processing rates for every tier but no subscription dollar figure anywhere; getting a price means scheduling a demo.

Hauler Hero

Hauler Hero is waste-hauling operations software with drag-and-drop dispatch, map-based route planning, recurring billing and batch invoicing, a driver tablet app and an AI layer ("Hero AI") covering a customer-facing chat assistant, route-sequence optimization and camera-footage-to-work-order matching.

Tradeoff: Quote only, no public pricing. Hauler Hero has no pricing page at all: its /pricing URL returns a 404, and every call to action leads to a demo request rather than a self-serve signup.

ServiceM8

ServiceM8 has a free plan for one user and 30 jobs a month. Paid plans start at $29/mo (Starter, 50 jobs) and rise to $79/mo (Growing, 150 jobs) and $149/mo (Premium, 500 jobs), each with unlimited users. Scheduling, quoting, invoicing, online bookings and card payments are on every plan, and it offers a 14-day free trial with no card.

Tradeoff: Price follows job volume, so a busy shop pays more as jobs grow, and texts over each plan's monthly cap cost extra.

Which junk removal software should you choose?

Choose based on whether hauling-specific routing tools are worth a demo call, or whether you want a published price you can compare today. Both approaches are common in this trade.

  • Solo operator, want a published price. ServiceM8's free plan works under 30 jobs a month. Claver Starter ($19/mo, 2 users) and Jobber Core ($49/mo, or $29/mo billed annually) add booking and a customer portal.
  • Small crew, want a published price. Claver Crew is $39/mo for 8 users. Housecall Pro Basic is $79/mo for one user, and its Essentials team plan is $299/mo for 5.
  • Dumpster rental plus junk removal. Docket is built for both lines of business with a customer-facing booking cart, but you will need a demo to see pricing.
  • Route-heavy hauling operations. Hauler Hero and Docket's Pro Plus tier both offer AI-assisted route optimization, though neither publishes what it costs.
  • Growing crew, 5 to 20 people. Claver Business is $79/mo for 20 users. Jobber Connect for up to 5 users is $199/mo ($149/mo billed annually).

What should a junk removal business look for in software?

Junk removal jobs are often quoted on the spot and priced by volume or truck load, so the app needs to make quoting and dispatch fast, and routing matters more here than in most trades.

  • Route optimization. Multiple stops a day make route planning worth more in this trade than in most. Docket and Hauler Hero build this in; general tools like Claver Crew and Jobber Connect add route optimization as a feature rather than a core focus.
  • Whether you need a price today or can wait for a demo. Docket and Hauler Hero require a sales conversation before you see a number. Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceM8 and Claver publish prices you can compare right now.
  • Customer-facing booking. A booking widget or cart that shows a real price lets customers schedule a pickup without a phone call. Check whether it handles volume-based or load-based pricing.
  • How it charges for users. Some tools price by user or team size (Jobber, Housecall Pro), some include a set number of users in each plan (Claver), and ServiceM8 charges by jobs per month. Price your crew as it will be a year from now.
  • Getting your data out. Make sure you can export customers, jobs and invoices as CSV files if you switch tools later. Our guide on how to switch field service software walks through the move.

Junk removal software FAQ

What is the best software for a junk removal business?
Docket and Hauler Hero are built specifically for junk removal and hauling, but neither publishes a price: both are demo-gated. Jobber and Housecall Pro are general field service apps with published prices and native mobile apps. ServiceM8 has a genuine free plan for one user. Claver includes 2, 8 or 20 users in one flat price starting at $19/mo. If seeing a price before a sales call matters to you, that alone rules out Docket and Hauler Hero.
Is there a free junk removal app?
ServiceM8 has a genuine free plan for one user and up to 30 jobs a month. Docket and Hauler Hero publish no pricing at all, so there is no way to confirm a free tier from either vendor's own site. Housecall Pro and Claver run on paid plans after a trial, 14 days on Housecall Pro and Claver's own $1 trial. If you do fewer than 30 jobs a month, ServiceM8 is the only confirmed free option here.
How much does junk removal software cost?
Docket and Hauler Hero publish no prices at all; both require a demo to get a quote. Among the tools that do publish prices, ServiceM8 starts free for one user, Claver starts at $19/mo, Jobber Core is $49/mo ($29/mo billed annually) and Housecall Pro Basic is $79/mo for one user. Team plans cost more: Jobber Connect for 5 users is $199/mo and Housecall Pro Essentials for 5 is $299/mo.
Do Docket and Hauler Hero publish pricing?
No. Docket's pricing page lists three named tiers (Grow, Pro, Pro Plus) with detailed feature lists but no dollar figure for any of them, ending in "schedule a personalized demo today" for pricing. Hauler Hero has no pricing page at all; its /pricing URL returns a 404, and every call to action leads to a demo request rather than a price or a self-serve signup.
Do I need junk-removal-specific software, or will general field service software work?
Docket and Hauler Hero are the two tools here purpose-built for junk removal and hauling, with route optimization and a customer-facing booking cart designed around that work. Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceM8 and Claver are general field service tools rather than junk-removal-specific ones. They cover scheduling, quoting and invoicing, but they are not built around hauling work the way Docket and Hauler Hero are.
Which junk removal software doesn't charge per user?
ServiceM8's paid plans include unlimited users and charge by jobs per month instead. Claver includes 2, 8 or 20 users in flat plans of $19, $39 and $79 a month. Jobber and Housecall Pro price by team size or per extra seat. Docket and Hauler Hero publish no pricing information at all, so their per-user cost, if any, isn't public.
Is it worth buying junk-removal-specific software over a general field service app?
Docket and Hauler Hero add routing tools and a customer-facing booking cart built around hauling work, but neither publishes a price, so you cannot compare cost without a demo. If knowing your monthly cost up front matters, a general tool such as Jobber, Housecall Pro or Claver gets you scheduling and invoicing today at a published price.
How do I switch junk removal software without losing my customer list?
Export your customers, jobs and invoices as CSV files from your current tool before you cancel. Import them into the new tool and run both side by side until open jobs and invoices are settled. Check your contract for a minimum term first. Claver's import wizard reads CSV exports from Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan and QuickBooks.
