Best home service business software (2026)
The best home service business software depends on your stage. Solo owners can start with ServiceM8's free plan, Claver ($19/mo for 2 users) or QuoteIQ. Small crews should compare how Claver, Kickserv, ScheduleDrop and Jobber include users. Growing teams weigh Jobber and Housecall Pro team plans, and multi-location companies and franchises look at Workiz and ServiceTitan, which sell by quote.
Claver makes this page, and Claver is one of the options. Competitor prices come from each company's own pricing page, checked September 27, 2026.
What is the best home service business software?
The best fit changes as the business grows. A solo owner needs a low price and a quick setup, a crew needs users included without a big jump in cost, and a multi-location company needs tools for several branches. The table puts nine options side by side.
| Software | Best for | Starting price | Users included | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claver | Solo owners and small crews that want users included in one flat price | $19/mo | 2 on Starter, 8 on Crew ($39/mo), 20 on Business ($79/mo) | Native iOS and Android apps are coming soon; dispatch and two-way texting start on Crew |
| Jobber | Home service pros who want one app that grows from solo to team plans | $49/mo, or $29/mo billed annually (Core) | 1 on Core; team plans are priced by team size | GPS, routing and QuickBooks sync start on Connect; two-way texting starts on Grow |
| Housecall Pro | Residential and commercial pros who want an established all-in-one platform | $79/mo (Basic, 1 user) | 1 on Basic; 5 on the Essentials team plan ($299/mo) | Extra users cost $100/mo each on Essentials and $75/mo on Max team plans |
| QuoteIQ | Owner-operators who want quoting, measuring and AI tools in one app | $29.99/mo (Essentials) | 1 on Essentials; 2, 4, 10 or unlimited on higher plans | More users means a higher plan: 2 users is $74.99/mo |
| ServiceM8 | Solo operators who want to start free | Free plan; paid plans from $29/mo | 1 on Free; unlimited on paid plans | Each plan caps jobs per month (50 on the $29 plan) |
| Kickserv | Small teams that want a set number of users per plan | $75/mo ($60/mo billed annually) | 5 on Start, 10 on Run, 20 on Scale | Dispatch mapping and GPS check-ins start on Run ($149/mo) |
| ScheduleDrop | Teams that want every feature on every plan, priced by team size | $47 every 4 weeks (Solo, 1 provider); $97 every 4 weeks for up to 5 | 1 on Solo; up to 5, 10, 20 or 30 on team plans | Bills every 4 weeks, so 13 charges a year instead of 12 |
| Workiz | Growing teams up to multi-location companies and franchises | Quote only, no public pricing | Not published | No public prices. Its phone system and AI answering are sold separately. |
| ServiceTitan | Larger, growing home-service companies | Quote only, no public pricing | Priced per technician | No public prices and no self-serve trial. Buying starts with a demo. |
Last verified September 27, 2026 from each company's public pricing page: Jobber, Housecall Pro, QuoteIQ, ServiceM8, Kickserv, ScheduleDrop, Workiz and ServiceTitan. Housecall Pro shows its prices after a short quiz about your trade and team size; the figures here are from its HVAC result. Jobber was running a limited-time discount when we checked, so the figures here are its regular rates. Prices change, so check the source before you buy.
How we compared these tools
We compared published prices, plan limits and features on each vendor's own site on September 27, 2026. We did not test the apps hands-on or survey their users, so nothing here ranks tools on ease of use or support. Where a company publishes no price, we say so instead of estimating one.
This guide sorts the same tools by where your business is today: working alone, running a small crew, growing past ten people, or operating several locations. If you want one ranked list for small businesses, see our guide to the best field service software for small business. Claver's plan details come from Claver's own product.
Which home service business software should you choose?
Choose for the business you'll be in a year, not only the one you run today. The biggest cost difference between tools is how they charge as you add people, so price your next hire before you commit. Each stage below lists the plans that fit and what they cost.
Solo owner-operator
You answer the phone, do the work and send the invoice. You need online booking, quotes, invoices and card payments at a low monthly price.
- ServiceM8 Free covers one user and 30 jobs a month at no cost.
- Claver Starter is $19/mo for 2 users, with online booking that shows live prices and open slots, and recurring plans customers can sign up for on their own.
- QuoteIQ Essentials is $29.99/mo for one user, with quoting and a property measuring tool.
- ScheduleDrop Solo is $47 every 4 weeks for one provider, with every feature included.
- Jobber Core is $49/mo for one user, or $29/mo billed annually.
Small crew of 2 to 8 people
You send techs out, so you need a dispatch view, texting and a price that doesn't jump with every hire.
- Claver Crew is $39/mo for 8 users, with a dispatch board, GPS tracking, route optimization and two-way texting.
- Kickserv Start is $75/mo for 5 users ($60/mo billed annually). Dispatch mapping and GPS check-ins are on Run ($149/mo for 10).
- ScheduleDrop Launch is $97 every 4 weeks for up to 5 providers, with dispatch and live GPS on every plan.
- Jobber Connect is $199/mo for up to 5 users ($149/mo billed annually), with GPS tracking and routing.
- Housecall Pro Essentials is $299/mo for 5 users on its team plan, plus $100/mo per extra user.
Growing team of 10 to 20 people
You have office staff and several crews. Reporting, permissions and a price that still makes sense at 20 logins matter now.
- Claver Business is $79/mo for 20 users and adds a phone system, advanced reports and a lead pipeline.
- Kickserv Scale is $249/mo for 20 users ($199/mo billed annually).
- ScheduleDrop Scale is $247 every 4 weeks for 11 to 20 providers.
- Jobber team plans for up to 10 users run $299/mo on Connect, $399/mo on Grow and $599/mo on Plus, less on annual billing.
- Housecall Pro Max is $649/mo for 8 users on its team plan, plus $75/mo per extra user.
Franchise or multi-location company
You run several branches or sell franchises, so you need multi-location management, roles and reporting across locations.
- Workiz puts multi-location management and roles and permissions on Pro, and franchise management on Ultimate. It sells by quote.
- ServiceTitan positions itself for larger, growing home-service businesses and prices per technician. It also sells by quote, after a demo.
- Claver is built for a single small business: its largest plan includes 20 users, and it has no multi-location management. Its parent accounts are for customers such as property managers and HOAs.
Which software fits your type of home service business?
The type of work matters as much as team size. Route businesses need recurring jobs and routing, repair trades need price books and equipment history, and project trades need fast quotes and staged billing. Our trade guides compare tools for each.
- Recurring route work (lawn care, pool service, pest control). Look for recurring jobs that bill themselves, route optimization and autopay. See the best lawn care, pool service and pest control software.
- Repair and install trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical). Look for a price book, maintenance agreements, equipment records per property and dispatch. See the best HVAC, plumbing and electrician software.
- Estimate-heavy project work (roofing, exterior cleaning, remodeling). Look for on-site quotes, good-better-best options, deposits, change orders and progress billing. See the best roofing and pressure washing software, and our guide to invoicing and estimate apps.
- Booking-heavy residential services (house cleaning, maid services). Look for online booking with live prices, recurring visits and reminders. See the best house cleaning and commercial cleaning software.

What does each home service app offer?
Each profile covers what the tool is, who it suits, what it costs and one real tradeoff. Every price is the vendor's own published figure, or marked quote only when the vendor doesn't publish one.
Claver
Claver is field service software for small home-service businesses: scheduling, quotes, invoicing, payments and customer texting, with users included in one flat monthly price. Starter is $19/mo for 2 users, Crew $39/mo for 8 and Business $79/mo for 20, month-to-month. Starter includes online booking with live pricing, a customer portal, quotes, invoicing, card payments and recurring plans that customers can sign up for on their own. Crew adds dispatch, two-way texting, GPS tracking, route optimization, job costing and QuickBooks Online sync. Business adds a built-in phone system, an AI receptionist, equipment records per customer and advanced reports.
Tradeoff: Native iOS and Android apps and Tap to Pay are coming soon; today Claver is a web app you install from the browser. It is a newer product with a smaller integration list than Jobber or Housecall Pro, and there is no free plan: it is $1 for 14 days, then $19/mo. The AI receptionist is on Business only, and it takes booking requests for you to confirm rather than booking on its own.
Jobber
Jobber is an all-in-one app for home service pros to book jobs, quote, invoice and grow, with plans from one user up to teams. Core is $49/mo for one user month-to-month, or $29/mo billed annually. Team plans are priced by team size: for up to 5 users, Connect is $199/mo, Grow $299/mo and Plus $499/mo, with lower prices billed annually. Online booking and a client hub are on every plan, it has native iOS and Android apps, and you can try it free without a card.
Tradeoff: GPS tracking, routing and QuickBooks Online sync start on Connect, and two-way texting and job costing start on Grow. Jobber also sells 12-month commitment and prepaid annual plans, so check the terms you sign.
Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro is an all-in-one platform for residential and commercial pros. Its pricing page lists Basic at $79/mo for one user, with online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing. Essentials ($229/mo for one user) adds a sales proposal tool, membership plans, equipment tracking, flat-rate pricing, job costing and QuickBooks Online sync, and Max ($349/mo) adds route optimization and a pipeline. The page shows prices after a short quiz about your trade and team size; these are from its HVAC result. It has a free mobile app for iOS and Android and a 14-day free trial with no card.
Tradeoff: Team plans start at $299/mo for 5 users on Essentials, and each extra user adds $100/mo. Max for teams is $649/mo for 8 users, plus $75/mo per extra user. AI call answering is a separate add-on.
QuoteIQ
QuoteIQ is home service software with quoting, a property measuring tool (MapMeasure Pro), a Virtual Call Team and AI tools built in. Essentials is $29.99/mo for one user, Beginner $74.99/mo for 2 users, Pro $149.99/mo for 4, Elite $299/mo for 10 and Max $699/mo for unlimited users. It charges no per-user fees, offers a 14-day free trial and says no third-party integrations are needed for its core features.
Tradeoff: Adding people means moving up a whole plan, and AI features draw on monthly credits that reset each cycle and don't roll over.
ServiceM8
ServiceM8 has a free plan for one user and 30 jobs a month. Paid plans start at $29/mo (Starter, 50 jobs) and rise to $79/mo (Growing, 150 jobs), $149/mo (Premium, 500 jobs) and $349/mo (Premium Plus, 1,500 or more), each with unlimited users. Scheduling, quoting, invoicing, online bookings and card payments are on every plan, and it offers a 14-day free trial with no card.
Tradeoff: Price follows job volume, so a busy shop pays more as jobs grow, and texts over each plan's monthly cap cost extra. Its full app is built for iPhone; Android users get ServiceM8 Lite.
Kickserv
Kickserv includes a set number of users in each plan: 5 on Start ($75/mo, or $60/mo billed annually), 10 on Run ($149/mo, or $119/mo) and 20 on Scale ($249/mo, or $199/mo). Its features include automated email and text reminders and an embeddable contact form, QuickBooks Online sync is included on Start, and it offers a 30-day free trial with no setup fee.
Tradeoff: Dispatch mapping and GPS check-ins start on Run, so a small team that needs them pays $149/mo. QuickBooks Desktop costs $50/mo extra on Run.
ScheduleDrop
ScheduleDrop is an all-in-one platform for home service businesses that prices by team size and puts every feature on every plan. It bills every 4 weeks: Solo is $47 for 1 provider, Launch $97 for up to 5, Build $147 for 6 to 10, Scale $247 for 11 to 20 and Dominate $347 for 21 to 30, plus $10/provider/mo above 30. Yearly billing works out to $39/mo on Solo ($470/yr) and $81/mo on Launch ($970/yr). Every plan includes an online booking form, a shared inbox for texts, email and calls, dispatch and live GPS, admin and crew mobile apps, invoicing with card on file, and reviews and referrals. Setup is done for you with no setup fee, and there is a 14-day free trial.
Tradeoff: Billing every 4 weeks means 13 charges a year, not 12, so multiply by 13 when you compare annual cost. A team of 2 to 5 pays $97 every 4 weeks, since there is no cheaper plan with fewer features.
Workiz
Workiz sells three plans: Standard for growing teams, Pro for mid-size teams and Ultimate for multi-location companies and franchises. Every plan includes QuickBooks Online sync, a client portal, a price book and recurring jobs. Pro adds multi-location management and roles and permissions, and Ultimate adds franchise management, service plans, equipment tracking and inventory. It offers a 7-day free trial with no card.
Tradeoff: Workiz publishes no prices, so you request a quote for each plan. Its phone system (Genius Phone), AI answering (Genius Answering) and marketing tools are sold separately.
ServiceTitan
ServiceTitan positions itself as the full operating system for larger, growing home-service businesses. Its three plans, Starter, Essentials and The Works, all list dispatching, scheduling and call booking, and its features include a pricebook, mobile estimates, payroll, commission tracking and marketing attribution. It prices per technician.
Tradeoff: It publishes no prices and has no self-serve trial, so you get a quote after a demo request. For a small shop, that is a longer buying process than a tool you can start online today.
What should you look for in home service business software?
Start with the daily loop: booking, scheduling, quoting, invoicing and getting paid. Then check how the price grows with your headcount, which plan has the features you need, and whether the billing terms and field app suit your crew.
- How it charges as you grow. Tools charge per user, include a set number of users, price by provider tiers, charge by jobs per month, or quote each business. Price your team a year from now.
- Which plan has what you need. Dispatch, GPS, texting and QuickBooks sync often sit above the entry plan. Compare the plan you'd buy, not the cheapest one.
- What your customers see. Online booking with real prices, reminder texts, a portal to approve quotes and pay, and an "on my way" text cut down on phone tag.
- The app your techs use. Some tools have native iOS and Android apps and others run in the browser. Try it on your crew's phones during the trial.
- Billing terms. Check for 12-month commitments, prepaid annual plans and billing every 4 weeks, which all change the real yearly cost.
- Room for more locations. If you plan to open a second branch or franchise, check for multi-location management before you move your data in.
- Getting your data out. Make sure you can export customers, jobs and invoices as CSV files. Our guide on how to switch field service software walks through the move.
