How long does epoxy flooring last?

Commercial floors under heavy traffic or chemical exposure may need recoating every 5 to 10 years. Single-coat DIY epoxy typically lasts 3 to 5 years before peeling.
Do I need to grind the concrete before epoxy?
Yes, concrete surface preparation is the most critical step in an epoxy coating job. Diamond grinding or shot blasting opens the concrete pores so the epoxy bonds to the slab rather than sitting on top of it. Skipping this step is the leading cause of epoxy delamination and peeling within the first year.
What is the difference between epoxy and polyurea?

Polyurea is a faster-curing topcoat that is more flexible, UV-stable, and abrasion-resistant than epoxy alone.
